Jonathan Roper comes from both a commercial and technical background, having had a career change from managing commercial bus operations to IT, and in particular, telephony and mesh wireless systems. Jonathan was a volunteer in the Royal Corps of Signals for 12 Years, specializing in mobile telecoms for voice and data.
While in his last role as operations director for a telecoms company, Jonathan built one of the first commercial Locustworld meshes, and for a while one of the largest in the world, and then went on to design and project manage a billing solution for Locustworld Mesh which was offered commercially to a number of other mesh owners. Jonathan and has since installed and provided technical expertise and structured training courses for both mesh and Asterisk based telephony for a variety of other operators all over the world, including a charitable project in a remote part of Bolivia providing both internet access and telephony across a village.
Jonathan is now a consultant offering a portfolio of products and services including wireless and telecoms consultancy, Asterisk based office telephony systems, and pre-paid calling card platforms.
